White crystals. Deliquescent. Decompose when heated to precipitate phosphine (autoignition). Soluble in boiling ethanol and water, slightly soluble in cold ethanol, almost insoluble in acetone. The aqueous solution was neutral. Mp 200 ℃. Irritation.
