USES :
Scandium(III) oxide, Sc2O3, or scandia, is a high melting white solid used in high-temperature systems (for its resistance to heat and thermal shock), electronic ceramics, and glass composition (as a helper material).
Scandium carboxylates may be compounded and sintered with zirconia to produce a scandium stabilized zirconia ceramic (ScSZ) useful as an electrochemical fuel cell electrolyte.
